The 75th Anniversary Celebration of Bambi

One of Disney's all time classics is coming out of the vault and Walt Disney Studios announced the addition of “Bambi,” the endearing, timeless tale of a wide-eyed fawn, to the celebrated Walt Disney Signature Collection. The Walt Disney Signature Collection includes groundbreaking films created or inspired by the imagination and legacy of Walt Disney, featuring timeless stories and characters that have touched generations. Each release will
offer special features for every member of your family plus a unique digital experience. To date, the collection includes “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Pinocchio.”

“Bambi” was released in 1942 during World War II and took over five years to make due to its exquisite hand-drawn artwork and attention to detail. Beloved by generations, “Bambi” holds the No. 3 spot on the American Film Institute’s “10 Top 10,” honoring the 10 greatest animated films of all time. The timeless tale features an adorable young deer named Bambi who explores the wonders and challenges of the woods with his playful pal Thumper, the lovable skunk Flower, and wise Friend Owl – and ultimately fulfills his destiny as prince of the forest.

The Bambi movie brings back so many memories for me, it was one of my favorites as a child, and I was lucky enough to not only get to share it recently with my children, but also with 10 subscriber families. I was very fortunate to get chosen to take part in a Bambi Movie Review and Beautification project. We started out at a local park, where we painted kindness rocks to be distributed about the community, offering inspirational and uplifting messages. Even Makutu, from Makutu's Island Chandler, stopped by to paint kindness rocks with us! After the project, we headed to Makutu's Island, where we were hosted for the Bambi movie screening and lunch, what an awesome day.

It was just amazing to sit and watch over 25 children enjoying a movie that I grew up with. My favorite line, is one that I am certain most moms can relate to and use often,  is when Thumper says, "if you can't say somethin' nice....don't say nothin' at all." I got a funny little look from my 10 year old when she heard Thumper, wonder if they will take it to heart a little more now! It was so fun to share such a special event with so many families, they even got Bambi seed packets to take home and plant, let the beautification continue. We were also so thankful to get awesome swag bags donated by Impressions Dental, Makutu's Island, Chick-fil-A (Arizona Ave), Slim Chickens Chandler, Fractured Prune Chandler, and Culvers Chandler.

Make sure to pick up your copy of the 75th Anniversary Edition of Bambi today, share childhood memories with your children, and create amazing new ones with a family movie night! Check out the Disney website HERE

****The Bambi Beautification Project and movie screening were a sponsored event, I received compensating for hosting, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
