Hello, we are Sonoran Sweets! We are a local home bakery out of Phoenix. Our names are Kira and Devon, two cousins, here to bring you sweet treats from our hearts to yours. It's important to us that our sweets are a treat we would proudly serve our own family members, and take pride in being able to share that quality with others!

All of our coloring is naturally sourced from vegetables or fruits; all edible, natural, real ingredients. We don't use artificial dyes, colors or preservatives in our baked goods. That's not something we personally want to eat or serve to others! But we are here to prove to you that desserts can still look cute AND taste delicious while still using good-for-you ingredients.

Some of our creations include our signature Prickly Pear Cupcake, swirled with fresh prickly pear puree (yes, we make it in house!) with Lime Frosting for that punch of citrus that pairs so perfectly with the desert fruit, and what have been called our superlative sugar cookies that you can't eat just one of!

We would love to be your go-to bakery for the next birthday party you plan or bridal or baby shower you're a part of! Our cookies make awesome favors and you can never go wrong with cupcakes! We can't wait to hear from you!

Macaroni Kid Chandler Review:

For the last year I a have been looking for a local bakery to work with. I love to bake, but radiology school is just not affording me the time to do it lately. With the twins birthday fast approaching, and literally no time in the day to bake, I was starting to panic a bit. The problem with loving to bake, is you just can't bring yourself to buy the mass produced store made cupcakes and cakes. Well let me tell you, it was destiny the day I walked in to swimming lessons, and the manager Josh asked me if I could work with his fiancée Devon and her cousin Kira, they were a local home based bakery, just getting started. I was so excited to have potentially found my new bakery, and set up to meet with the girls.

Devon and Kira invited me to a tasting at Devon's house, and when I walked in the door and met the two of them, I knew it was going to be the perfect partnership. They girls are both amazing, they have warm and fun personalities, and you could tell that not only did they love to bake, but they truly care about making their clients happy. I was able to try some of their amazing treats that day, and I don't even know where to begin!

First off the cupcakes were amazing, I loved the rich and decadent chocolate, but then I am a chocolate freak. For those of you that don't like chocolate and would like something a little different, the Prickly Pear Cupcake with the Lime Frosting was unreal. I am not a huge fan of lime normally, but it was not overpowering at all, and offset the Prickly Pair perfectly. They also had an assortment of loaves, and to die for sugar cookies, and no I am not exaggerating. I am not one that normally gravitates to sugar cookies, I am more a fan of chocolate chip or things along that line. I think this is due to that fact that most of the sugar cookies I have had over the years, have been kind of dry and crumbly, and really not appealing. I have to say that the sugar cookies that the girls make are not that way at all, in fact they are so good, I ordered them for the twins' party.

I was having a hard time getting the twins to tell me exactly what they wanted for their birthday cupcakes, all they would tell me is trains for Jaxsen and horses for Adysen. So I simply passed this on to the girls, and gave them free reign. We went with chocolate and the prickly pear, and it was the perfect mix as Jaxsen is a chocolate freak like his mom but Adysen isn't. I also asked the girls to make some of their amazing sugar cookies, that we could give away to our guests instead of goodie bags. I'm not sure about you, but I despise those birthday party goodie bags. They full of junk toys and candy, and I end up throwing them away as soon as the kids aren't looking.

The day of the birthday party, I arrived to pick up the treats for the party,  and I was not disappointed. With bakeries in the past, I have given very clear instructions, and been highly disappointed. I was not one bit let down with the girls, they had gone above and beyond. The best part of all, was that not only did the cupcakes and cookies look amazing,  they tasted amazing as well. I have ordered cupcakes in the past, and they look amazing, but when you bite into them they are awful. One of the other things I loved about Sonoran Sweets, is the fact that they use no artificial dyes in their products. If you have ever had a child eat a cupcake form the store, and when they are done their hands are stained from the bright colored icing, you know exactly what I mean, that cannot be good for you. Sonoran Sweets also offers gluten free options, I tasted the chocolate cupcakes, and I couldn't even tell the difference.

If you are looking for a local bakery, please give Sonoran Sweets a try, I am certain you will not be disappointed!
