My assistant Clara and I were so lucky to get to sneak away for a mom’s night out last month. We wanted to do something we had never done before, and so the hunt began. When we discovered Buffalo Jump Winery, we knew we had to check out their sip & paint classes. Buffalo Jump Winery is is based in Cody, Wyoming, and their wines are served throughout Wyoming, Montana, and Arizona. However, luck for us, they have a storefront that not only offers their wines, but their sip & paint classes as well.

When we arrived at Buffalo Jump, we were met by Beckie and Scott, one of the most down to earth and friendliest couples, I could ever have the pleasure of meeting. We choose our easels, and then it was time for a wine tasting. I have to admit I am not a wine fan at all. Clara loves it, but as much as I try to enjoy it, as it seems so sophisticated, it is really not my fortay. I decided to partake in the tasting though, in hopes that at 42 my taste buds had matured. Right away, Beckie saw the look on my fast, and had a good chuckle. She could tell right away that wine was just not my thing. However, lucky for me, Beckie and Scott make both a cranberry and strawberry Sangria, that is amazing. I had no trouble knocking back a couple glasses of that.

After the wine tasting, with glasses in hand, it was time to start painting. I was a little bit worried about how my picture was going to turn out, as I am not at all artistic. My worries however, were unfounded. Beckie showed us step but step how to create our outlines, and then she gave us free reign to make the picture our own. We had so much fun, and I was so surprised out how beautiful our pictures turned out. I have never laughed so much in a long time, and Clara and I couldn’t stop talking about which painting we wanted to do in our next class.

Buffalo Jump offers a sip & paint class for everyone. The classes are perfect for a girls’ night out, stagette, date night, family night, or even a corporate team building.
