As we all know, it’s sometimes really hard to spend quality time as a family. It’s not that we don’t want to, sometimes it’s just really hard to find the time, in our busy schedules. Last week, we fortunate to have the whole day together as a family, just having fun. It was super hot out, so we decided to look for some indoor entertainment. We had been wanting to try out Swingin’ Safari Mini Golf in Chandler since they opened, so we decided to venture in and check it out.

All I have to say is wow!! So the best part of Swingin Safari is that it is indoors. Now don’t get me wrong, I love mini golf, but I sure don’t love it outdoors when it’s over a 100 degrees out. The second best thing about Swingin’ Safari is the fact that it is glow in the dark and so darn cool. The kids loved it, and we had an amazing time. It was perfect for all ages, and even our little guy who gets bored with everything after 5 minutes, stayed entertained for the more than an hour, that we were there.

Swingin’ Safaris the perfect place for birthday parties, and corporate retreats, and they are offering a special for Father’s Day. Bring dad in on Father’s Day, and he will golf for free with the purchase of another round at regular price. Swingin’ Safari is open 7 days a week. See below for the hours.

After mini golf of course the kids were hungry. We decided to head to Ginger Monkey in Chandler, as we had heard amazing things about it, and had yet to check it out. As soon as we walked in the door to Ginger Monkey, the kids loved it. Ginger Monkey is well equipped to entertain your entire family with everything from pinball, to darts and board games. Our kids were entertained the most by the fancy toilets in the restroom that have all kinds of features including heated and a bidet!!!

I have to say that my favorite part of Ginger Monkey was the service and the food. We did not go without anything, and our server Raul anticipated our needs quicker than we did. We decided to start with appetizers, and ordered the bone-in wings and calamari. The wings were the best I have found since I moved to Arizona, 7 years ago. The wings were huge, not the skimpy little ones I am use to getting. They were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, with a generous amount of sauce. The calamari was also really good, although I only got one piece, my 11 year old daughter could not get enough.

It was time to order our entrees, and I cannot say enough about the kids’ meals. They come on the cutest cafeteria style tray, and their was a ton of food. A lot of times a kids’ meal is not enough for my 11 year old, but she could not finish it. The chicken strips that the kids ordered were the best I had ever eaten, I had to keep stealing bites. They were handmade by Chef Mark, and let me tell you, I will be getting them again, or stealing the kids’ I suppose.

For our entrees, hubby ordered the Ahi Tuna Burger, and I ordered the Grilled Angus Burger. The Ahi Burger is seared Ahi Tuna, crispy wontons, radish sprouts, tomato and wasabi aioli. It was an amazing burger, with a huge piece of Ahi, cooked perfectly. The Grilled Angus Burger is caramelized onion, tomato jam, applewood smoked bacon, white cheddar, aioli, and arugula. The burger was the best I have had in years, the tomato jam gave it so much flavor. It was cooked to perfection, and so big I could barely get my mouth around it. I will definitely be ordering the burger again, I think about it at work when I am hungry, lol.

We didn’t have room to try their desserts, although I am certain they are amazing, and they are on our list for our next visit. Make sure you check out Ginger Monkey’s menu HERE.
