Wow, where do I even begin? I want to tell you about the most amazing opportunity I had, but I am still in such awe that I don’t even know where to begin! I was recently part of an amazing press trip, for an exclusive group of Macaroni Kid Publishers to Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun, on the coast of the Caribbean Sea. To say that I joined 42 of my Macaroni Kid sisters in paradise, would be a huge understatement. I was so excited to begin with, as I have never been to Cancun, let alone an all inclusive resort, but this place by far exceeded any expectations I had.
My trip started with a flight from Phoenix to Atlanta, and then an easy transfer from Atlanta to Cancun. The airports were easy to navigate, and the flights smooth. I arrived excited, but a bit worried about getting from the airport in Mexico to the resort, it was just another publisher and myself in a foreign country. Our fears were quickly alleviated when we were quickly greeted by our amazing shuttle service, and driven the 20 short minutes to our resort. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly hotel staff, who quickly ushered us into the beautiful air conditioned lobby, where we were presented with a cool lightly scented wash cloth and a glass of champagne, just what I needed after a day of travel. The bellhop scooped up our luggage, leaving us free to meander through the lush property, and explore on the way to our rooms.

Wow the rooms!! Azul offers many layouts, including suites suitable for families. Our room was amazing to say the least. We had a room with two queen beds, that was so spacious, and had an amazing Jacuzzi tub. I have to say that the best part of the room was the deck. We had an amazing ocean view from our spacious balcony, I could have spent hours out there reading a book, or relaxing with a drink in hand. The smell of the ocean, and the warm gentle breeze were enough to take the stresses of life away.

We had a quiet arrival evening in our luxurious accommodations, with room service delivered to our door around midnight. Oh yes, they offer a 24 hour a day room service menu, that leaves little to be desired. Make sure you order the chocolate cake, we may have tried it a time or two, and it’s delectable. On top of room service, they offer a complimentary mini bar, that is stocked daily. Let me tell you, this is not a trip where I even tried to worry about my diet, but for those of you that have special dietary needs, don’t worry, the restaurants were very accomodating to those publishers who had specific requirements. Azul offers gourmet inclusive, this means that you can taste the passion in every scrumptious bite. Every delicious moment is to be savored, including the amazing beverages. From minty mojitos, to signature margaritas, there is something to please every palate with their top shelf offerings. I have to say that from dinner at Le Chique, a AAA Five Diamond restaurant, where we were treated to a 14 course meal of avant-garde delights, to the BBQ Grill where we had hamburgers, hotdogs, and ribs right on the beach, not one meal was short of delectable. Make sure to stop by Pizza Dude, conveniently located right on the edge of the splash pad, where you can get some specialty pies and salads.

There are plenty of spots to burn of calories at the Azul Riviera Cancun. From a multitude of pools, including adult only, family friendly, and splash pads, to miles of gorgeous sandy beaches on the Caribbean Sea. Azul also offers water sports including kayaks, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Maybe a cooking class, dance class, or spanish lesson is more your speed? Don’t worry, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy, including the kiddos.
