CHANDLER, Ariz. (March 3, 2021) – Confetti, balloons and a crayon-wrapper, ribbon-cutting celebration marked the reopening of Crayola Experience Chandler.
The attraction where color comes to life, came to life at 10 a.m. today. Crayola Mascot Sunglow (aka Sunny) and 8-year-old Sophia Schaefer assisted General Manager Casey Santoro in the festivities. Sophie, a Chandler resident, was randomly chosen from more than 400 sweepstakes entries to perform the ribbon-cutting honors. [Video and photographic b-roll available here: http://bit.ly/30b6WA0]
Located in the Chandler Fashion Center, the family attraction will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed Mondays and Tuesdays (excluding holidays). Timed tickets are available at www.CrayolaExperience.com/Chandler.
“We appreciate our guests’ patience and are tickled pink to be welcoming families back to rediscover the magic of color,” Santoro said. “It’s time to start creating colorful memories that will last a lifetime.”
The attraction has implemented several new protocols that align with state and local government regulations, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines including:
- Restricting attendance capacity.
- Requiring face masks for employees and guests 3 years and older.
- Conducting entry screenings, including temperature checks for employees and guests.
- Requiring clear bags for personal belongings to enable touchless bag checks.
- Recommending reservations through its timed-ticket entry system.
- Modifying activities to create physical distancing.
- Recommending cashless transactions and e-ticketing to reduce contact.
- Enhancing cleaning and sanitation protocols.
- Adding additional hand sanitizer stations.
Crayola Experience also has extended the expiration dates on annual passes and general admission tickets.

Crayola Experience Chandler opened in May 2019. The indoor family attraction is an immersive, larger-than-life, creative adventure where kids and adults alike explore art and technology, express their creativity, and experience color in a whole new way.
During a fun-filled day at Crayola Experience Chandler, guests can do everything from name and wrap their own Crayola crayon (Wrap It Up!), star in their own coloring page (Be A Star), melt crayon wax to create a swirly whirly masterpiece (Drip Art), and bring their coloring page to 3-D life and animate it with their touch (Color Magic).
The Crayola Store, located adjacent to the attraction inside the Chandler Fashion Center, reopened last summer. The store’s current hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
